Annesse Brockley

Annesse’s Story

Annesse and her husband Mark live in the beautiful Black Hills of Spearfish, South Dakota. Here, they raised their two children and slowly transformed their family home into a fully functioning, natural homestead.

When Annesse first became sick with lupus in 1992, little was known about the disease and the medical community held few treatment options. She set out to learn everything she could about lupus and other autoimmune diseases. Through her research, she came to learn that almost all modern-day illnesses are not only connected to each other, but also to the foods we eat. Annesse shares her 20 years of learning, knowledge, progress and healing with others in an effort to help them recover from the devastation of autoimmune disease.

Friends and acquaintances often gather around Annesse’s kitchen counter to write down her recipes, soak in her knowledge of herbs and learn her ideas for better nutrition and healthier living.

Kristin Urdiales

Kristin’s Story

Kristin Urdiales was only fourteen when her mother became ill with lupus. Having already begun to suffer from migraine headaches and extraordinary fatigue, she knew that she was most likely on the same path if she did not make some changes. It would not be until Kristin was in her early 30s that she would truly discover the things that would improve her health.

It was then that her mother discovered the cause of her lupus and eventually how to cure it. Using this new understanding, Kristin and her mother, Annesse Brockley, co-authored Autoimmune The Cause and The Cure. Their goal is to share their knowledge with others who suffer from autoimmune disease.

Kristin and her mother have long since shared a love of natural healing, which led Kristin to attend internationally recognized Bastyr University, a Naturopathic Medical School outside of Seattle, Washington.

Kristin and her children Ella and Keenan now reside in South Dakota. Kristin has embraced her passion for nature’s healing powers and she loves sharing her knowledge with others through speaking engagements and by being involved in South Dakota’s natural foods community. Perhaps most importantly, she has put her experience to use in treating her own family, as her children have previously suffered with food allergies and eczema.
